HOW TO MAKE YOUR OWN RIPPED JEANS
Are ripped jeans back in style? The long-lost trend that became popular during the 70s fashion movement is alive again during the y2k fashion age. Or maybe the trend never left. Now, with the punk style back in fashion, ripped jeans are the talk of the town. A revived movement in the fashion world beloved by everybody from high school students to mothers to hipsters, ripped jeans are back. And they are excellent. But how should we wear those handmade ripped jeans?
HOW TO WEAR RIPPED JEANS
At the height of the urban clothes revolution, fashionistas wore ripped jeans with loud shirts containing curse words or rock band names on them. Cool kids also wore checkered long-sleeved shirts, sweaters, and even hoodies. Ripped jeans also look fashionable with a t-shirt or a vest and tie mix, especially if you wear a trench coat and a hat to go with it. Or just wear a vest and a shirt rolled up at the sleeves. Check up some vintage clothing stores or cheap stores like Goodwill. Sometimes you will find an array of clothing to wear with your ripped jeans right there.
RIPPED JEANS, GRUNGE STYLE
Grunge fashion is back in style, and the grunge style has labeled ripped jeans a must. Pair them with a crazy punk-rock T-shirt and/or a hand-me-down, long-sleeve checkered shirt. Ripped jeans will look even cooler with leather jackets and a gothic makeup look. Isn’t that the hype of women’s fashion these days? Have you thought about a dress coat and tie with your ripped jeans?
Jeans are all about freedom, all about style, being unique to you and your personality. They are no longer the pants your grandmother told you to put away in the closet every time she came for a visit. Also try a pain with a western-style motif. Include a cowhide coat or even a trench coat and cool cowboy boots, and you will look amazing.
STYLISH RIPPED SKIRTS
As far as the ladies are concerned, we all heard of ripped jeans, but have you heard of ripped denim skirts? Unknown to the fashion world, ripped denim skirts are just as they sound; dresses made from denim with shreds just like their denim counterparts. They go well with a leather jacket, gothic makeup, and ripped stockings.
There are many ways you can wear your ripped jeans, especially if you make them yourself. So, the million-dollar question becomes how you can get your pants to look like they went through a woodchipper. Assuming people do not want to spend $80-90 on a pair of brand-name jeans, your next bet is to make them look like that yourself. First, find an old, raggedy, and comfortable pair of jeans, preferably that you wore a hundred times before. Next, choose a pair of jeans that is medium to heavy and whose color has faded. If you are doing this for the first time, do not try this on your brand new $200 Levi’s that you just purchased yesterday at the mall. Your trial run should always be on something old and used. Anyways, jeans look better this way.
BEACH YOUR JEANS
To make your jeans old and worn out, throw them in the washing machine with a little bit of bleach. When the jeans are dry, gather up some sharp tools to work with, like an X-acto knife, razor blade, or scissors. Next, lay your pants flat on a hard surface and use a pencil or chalk trace on the jeans where you want the rips to be.
MAKE THE RIPS
When it comes to ripped jeans Most people like their rips around the knee but try to aim higher. This way, when you walk, you will not make the tear supper big. It is also essential to place a small cutting board in your pant leg while you do the distressing; this way, you scratch the surface you work on and don’t mistake cutting the backside. Next, take any sharp knife, scissors, or even a box cutter, and start scraping down the length of the jeans horizontally where you wish to have your rips. Stop scratching when you see white threads appear.
MAKE HOLES IN YOUR JEANS
Ripped jeans usually need some twerking before they are done. Take some tweezers here and there and separate the threads. If you wish to make holes in your jeans, remove the threads with scissors. Try to make the holes small at first, and as you wear them, you can decide how big the rips should be. After you finish your dissection, take a cheese grater or a pumice stone or something more rigid, like sandpaper, steel wool, or a Dremel, and go to town on your jeans.
You can also pick on and tug the area where you just used steel wool; this process will make the pants look ever “worse.” The method can also be done with your hands. Depending on how you would like to look, you can tug on the material as hard or soft as you wish.
When you get your pants to look like hell, sew around the perimeter of the holes. This process will prevent the holes from getting bigger. Use white or light blue thread to blend effortlessly with the fabric’s color for this step. The key to fashionably ripped jeans is imagination. As for all those naysayers out there, ripped jeans are here to stay!
Woah! I’m really digging the template/theme of this site. It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s difficult to get that “perfect balance” between user friendliness and visual appeal. I must say that you’ve done a excellent job with this. Additionally, the blog loads extremely quick for me on Internet explorer. Excellent Blog!
I got what you intend, appreciate it for posting.Woh I am thankful to find this website through google. “If one does not know to which port one is sailing, no wind is favorable.” by Seneca.
