START YOUR DAY WITH A HEALTHY BREAKFAST

What is the bets way to start your day? When it comes to the most important meal of the day, nothing is as essential as a healthy breakfast. Who hates to eat in the morning? Because I do! Honestly. Every time I wake up in the morning I am excited about something else. Taking my cat outside to chase away all the bugs in my garden, my fantasy football team, some place I need to go. The last thing on my mind is having a healthy breakfast. But what is a healthy breakfast anyway, and what is good to eat when it comes to the first meal of the day.

WHO CAN SAY NO TO EGGS

Eggs get you full quickly, poached, over easy, scrambled, sunny side up eggs will fill you up.As an excellent healthy breakfast choice eggs reduce your calorie intake and lower your blood sugar and insulin levels. The antioxidants in egg yolks help prevent cataracts and macular degeneration. Eggs also contain choline, which gives the brain and the liver the nutrients needed to fight related diseases. Although high in cholesterol, eggs don’t raise the body’s cholesterol, reduce the probability of heart disease and improve insulin sensitivity.

YOGURT IN THE MORNING

Another fantastic and healthy item to have in the morning is Greek yogurt. Yogurt reduces food craving and fills up the stomach by increasing the levels of hormones that promote satiety. Yogurt does not stop there. This healthy breakfast miracle also increases weight loss, decreases breast cancer, and contains probiotics that helps the gut.

OATMEAL IS FULL OF FIBER

As you know, a healthy breakfast is the best way to start your day. A beloved breakfast dish, oatmeal has enough fiber to reduce your body’s bad cholesterol and promote a feeling of fullness. As it is rich in antioxidants, oatmeal decreases blood pressure and benefits the heart. It also contains a lot of fiber, which reduces cholesterol and promotes a sense of fullness. The antioxidants in oatmeal help you keep a steady heart rate and lower blood pressure. Even though oats don’t contain gluten, they are processed in the same machines with other grains, and many times gluten from other grains, especially barley, gets mixed with gluten-free oats. The best way to boost the protein intake is to prepare them with milk instead of water. If you are going to eat oatmeal for breakfast, why not put some berries on top?

HEALTHY BREAKFAST, NUTS & HEALTHY FATS

For breakfast or a quick snack, nuts don’t absorb any fats, even if they are high in calories. Nuts combat heart disease, inflammation and reduce insulin resistance. These tiny delights are high in potassium, magnesium, and non-saturated fats. Nuts also lower cholesterol and reduce blood sugar, making them the best topping for Greek yogurt. Some of the healthiest nuts to consider are almonds, pecans, hazelnuts, macadamias, and walnuts. Almonds are great because they are rich in calcium and protect you from diabetes.

Full of fiber, pecans help with digestion and toxin elimination. Research shows that pecans are full of antioxidants and are the first line of defense in the war against heart disease and cancer. Hazelnuts lower cholesterol and help with reducing inflammation. If you have high cholesterol, besides hazelnuts, you can also snack on macadamias. These tiny nuts are good for the heart and are a good source of vitamin A and B complex as well as minerals. Finally, walnuts help with maintaining a low cholesterol level and with weight loss. They also have omega-3 fatty acids, which have a positive impact on the cardiovascular system.

GREEN TEA GETS YOU GOING

You just can’t have a healthy breakfast without coffee or tea. The caffeine in green tea, which is half the amount found in coffee, raises metabolism and increases alertness. Green tea lowers blood sugar and insulin level. An oxidant called EGCE found in nuts helps the brain revitalize the nervous system and protects the heart from damage. Coffee improves alertness, mood, and mental equity. A cup of coffee per day burns 80-150 calories. One of the most beloved breakfast beverages, coffee improves alertness, mood, mental equity, reduces inflammation, protects blood vessels, and decreases the risk for diabetes and liver disease.

TRY A MORNING PROTEIN SHAKE

The early morning protein shake reduces appetite. Most protein shakes use pea, soy, egg, or whey protein when mixed with fruit. Therefore, always add fruit to your morning breakfast. Besides fruit, coffee is a key ingredient in morning shakes, especially if you are looking for a quick pick-me-up. For some extra protein, vamp your morning shake with some flaxseed and oats or you can boost your shake with some chia seeds or hemp seeds. If you are not lactose intolerant, add some creamy yogurt to your shake. This way, your shake becomes creamier and hearty.

HEALTHY BREAKFAST, FRUIT AND ESSENTIAL VITAMINS

Fruit contains large amounts of vitamins, fiber, and potassium. So, if you are in the mood for a healthy low-calorie breakfast, don’t forget fresh fruit. One cup of fruit contains between 75 and 140 calories, and citrus is a fantastic source of Vitamin C. Together with yogurt, oatmeal, cereal, and cottage cheese, fruit is a must-have at the breakfast table. If you are in a rush, you can make your fruit salad the day before and leave it overnight in the fridge. Focus more on fruits that boost energy such as bananas, apples, oranges, pineapple, and berries.

CHIA SEEDS MAKES YOU FULL

Chia seeds expand when they are in contact with water. When eaten, chia seeds fill your stomach in no time, making them an excellent addition to anyone looking to get on a healthy diet. Full of fiber, chia seeds are good for digestion. Food and fruit move quickly through the digestive tract making it hard for the stomach to absorb nutrients. Chia slows down this process, allowing the body to absorb more nutrients from various foods. In managing and lowering blood sugar, chia protects the body from diabetes. The omega-3s and proteins in this delicious seed stabilize the sugar level and lower the risk of glucose-related diseases. While lowering blood sugar, chia seeds reduce body inflammation and get rid of bad cholesterol.

BERRIES ARE FULL OF ANTIOXIDANTS

Delicious berries are a must-have at the breakfast table. They are filled with antioxidants and hence boost the immune system and protect the body against diseases and viruses, as well as help in eliminating toxins. Studies show that people who eat berries are less stressed, more relaxed, and have a more positive view of life. The anthocyanins in berries keep the brain from deteriorating, especially as we grow older. In addition, the antioxidants in berries help destroy free radicals—unstable molecules that prevent the immune system from fighting bacteria and viruses. Many studies show that berries have more antioxidants than any other fruit. Nothing says “healthy breakfast” like cottage cheese.

BREAKFAST COTTAGE CHEESE FOR HEALTHY PROTEINS

Finally, cottage cheese is full of proteins, which pumps up the metabolism and fills the stomach relatively quickly. Cottage cheese promotes weight loss and has an abundance of proteins. Mixed with fruit and nuts, cottage cheese is one of the best breakfast alternatives there is. After all, breakfast is the most important meal of the day.

When it comes to starting your morning the right way start your morning with a healthy breakfast. Eggs, pancakes, toast, tea, milk, yogurt, anything that tickles your fancy in the morning. Because a healthy breakfast might be the most important meal of the day.
