WHAT WORKOUT IS BEST FOR YOU?

How many times have you tried to lose a few extra pounds? When it comes to weight loss workout, it is easier said than done. But for those who want to lose weight, there are many ways in which exercising can get you to your desired goal. There isn’t any “right” way to exercise; however, specific exercises have a better result than others. So, with all that said and done, what is the best workout in order to lose weight?

The best way to go about losing weight is by focusing on cardio exercises and strength training. Doctors all over the world concluded that weight loss is related to heart rate. The higher the heart rate, the greater the fat burn. According to the Mayo Clinic, you need to spend one hour working out five days a week to see significant results. If you do not have a whole hour of free time during the day, try the 20-20-20 method. Exercise for twenty minutes in the morning, 20 minutes at lunch, and finally 20 minutes in the afternoon.

CARDIO WORKOUT

The key to losing weight has always been a good cardio routine. The idea is the faster you increase your pulse, the more calories you are going to burn, and with so many cardio workouts out there, you cannot go wrong. One of the best is burpees.

This exercise works the heart, burns fat, and activates every muscle—ten minutes can burn up to 110 calories. Remember when you were a kid and jumping rope was fun? Well, jumping rope is a great cardio workout. On average, you can burn ten calories per minute. If jumping rope isn’t your thing, try jumping jacks; you can lose around 150 calories every quarter-hour doing this fun workout.

On the other hand, if you are looking for some action, try kickboxing. Many gyms offer some sort of martial arts classes and kickboxing is a wonderful way to start. A half an hour of kickboxing burns on average 300 calories. Not only is this form of MMA good for the muscles but it also releases any anger or frustrations you might have.

While most people don’t consider dancing as a workout, moving to the rhythm of the music is tasking. Not only is it good for the heart, but dancing also helps you tone your muscles, lubricates joints, helps with blood pressure, and it’s an amazing activity for people with self-esteem and anxiety issues. Last but not least, if you have stairs in your house, try going up and down for a few flights. This workout also builds up your leg muscles, and if you are looking for a harder challenge, climb the steps sideways.

HIGH INTENSITY TRAINING

A High-Intensity Training routine will also make you lose a few extra pounds. This method entails working out at a fast pace with 30-second breaks between reps. This exercise is excellent for people who are always on the run and do not have time to work out.

A good routine would be jumping jacks for a minute, burping for a minute, and finally squats for a minute with a 30-second break between them. You can perform this on a treadmill by running fast for a minute, then walking at a slower pace, then alternating to a faster pace again for one minute.

When it comes to an amazing workout, all the above are good for losing weight. All of them are great belly fat workouts, and all the exercises that I mentioned above will make you lose weight. All you have to do is believe in yourself.

LOOSE A FEW EXTRA POUNDS JOGGING

One of the best types of activities is low-intensity cardio exercises, such as cycling, fast-paced walking, aerobics, and even swimming. Doing these for five days a week and about one hour each day will help you lose a few extra pounds. Jogging or power walking in the outdoors calms the nervous system and gets you in touch with nature.

According to the journal of cardiology, jogging lowers bad cholesterol and raises good cholesterol; also, jogging helps lower and regulate blood pressure and improves blood circulation. Jogging is an excellent way to lose weight and can burn up to 550 calories per day if you jog for a long and steady period.

On psychological benefits, jogging is excellent for people who suffer from depression and anxiety because it raises norepinephrine, eliminating stress and calming the nervous system. Jogging improves cognitive functions—not only is it suitable for the body but it is also good for the brain.

While you are running, the heart pumps more oxygen to the brain, preventing dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. Running produces endorphins, reduces pain, and increases pleasure, making you feel happy over time.

There is a correlation between jogging and sleep. People who jog have seen an improvement in their sleeping pattern—they don’t wake up during the night, sleep fewer hours, and are well-rested the next day. However, you should avoid jogging too late in the evening because endorphins might keep you up late.

AEROBIC WORKOUT

One of the greatest things about weight loss exercises is the comradeship you will find. Sometimes what is important is not what exercises you do but the friends supporting you, including other friendly faces that, through conversation and jokes, may take your mind off your daily problems. Aerobics also strengthens the immune system.

Working out will raise your white cell count and protect your body from diseases. On the weight loss front, aerobics burn fat cells exponentially. Heart disease is the number one killer in the world. By exercising and pumping oxygenated blood throughout your body, the chances of dying from heart disease diminish over time. New research shows that by doing aerobics, a compound called Irisin is released that improves memory and decreases the chances of Alzheimer’s.

JUMPING ROPE

Try jumping rope when you do not have time to go out for a jog or a long walk. This exercise raises your heart rate and helps burn up to 1000 calories per hour. Try ten jumps in a row for a great warmup, then continue jumping for two minutes without stopping. Take a minute break and then repeat the set up to three times. When you get used to jumping rope, try it in a running motion, or jump on one leg, or mix them up—running, one leg, two legs—and repeat.

Jumping rope improves coordination; even though the mind might wander off, the brain will automatically focus on the movements of your feet and your arms, helping your coordination. When you jump rope, you also strengthen the muscles around your legs and ankles, making you less prone to injuries.

People who jump rope have a better posture than people who don’t. Because we rely more and more on cell phones and computers, our backs slouch, and our shoulders hunch, wreaking havoc on our backs. When jumping rope, the back is always straight, shoulders relaxed, and you align the spine. This fun activity will increase bone density. Doctors worldwide prescribe jumping rope as the main exercise for people who suffer from injuries, mainly because jumping engages the whole body.

BURPEES – A GREAT WAY TO LOSE A FEW EXTRA POUNDS

Burpees, for the advanced trainer, are a combination of pushups, jumps, and squats. This exercise is a fantastic workout for weight loss because it will quickly make you lose a few extra pounds by melting the fat off your chest, abs, and leg muscles. For practical training, do five sets of 12 reps, with a minute-long break between them.

Beginners should start with one set per day and, as you progress, add up to five sets per day. Burpees have immense benefits if you exercise the right way. Most people avoid burpees because they are challenging to do, but if you are doing them right, the benefits are great because burpees activate every muscle in your body. Burpees eliminate the need to join gyms or buy expensive training equipment. In addition, burpees raise your heart rate and burn calories, even 24 hours after your workout ended.

HIGH KNEE RUNNING WORKOUT

One of the best exercises out there is high knee running. The exercise is quite simple to perform, but you need to pace yourself. This exercise will undoubtedly get your heart pumping and work your core and leg muscles. This intense workout can be used as a warmup or part of a more elaborate exercise routine. Before you start, make sure you wear comfortable clothes and do this workout routine on a flat floor or a grassy area.

Begin with your feet apart and arms parallel to your body. Look straight and start by raising your knees towards your chest; this motion will work your chest and abs. Some will describe high knee running as “running in one place”, lifting each knee to your chest, and moving your arms simultaneously by your side. For all you beginners, start with 30 seconds at a time, take a short break and repeat.

This fantastic workout will raise your pulse; warm up your core muscles and prepare your body for more complex exercises and workouts. High knee workouts are great cardiovascular exercises; they increase your heart rate and open your lungs, helping you breathe better. High knee exercises will burn an average of 8 calories per minute at high speed.

If you’re working out at a more moderate pace, your body can burn 4 to 7 calories per minute. This exercise will work your abs, improve posture, help with balance, build muscular endurance, and help your hips, gluts, calves, hamstrings, and quads — a genuinely great workout for any fitness enthusiast.

THE MAGIC OF ZUMBA

Let’s talk Zumba. Right now, you probably have heard of this new dance/fitness craze called Zumba. Zumba it’s hard to describe because the whole “dancing to the music while you flop your arms around” doesn’t quite cut it. Zumba is much more than that. It is a mixture of party dancing with aerobic exercises and muscle building.

The Zumba craze began in 1998 when Alberto Perez forgot his aerobic music tapes for his fitness class; and improvised by using his old merengue and salsa tapes from his cars to teach a once-in-a-lifetime. He quickly found out that this workout helps coordination and flexibility, aids in weight loss, relieves stress, builds muscles, and promotes heart health.

Alberto Perez started a revolution for beginners who had no idea how to dance salsa and knew nothing about choreography; so don’t expect a talent show. Instead, expect a silly, fun dance that will move your body and help you with flexibility because, to tell you the truth, nobody knows what the heck there are doing either. Zumba is unique because it feels more like a party than a exercise; and together with a blend of excellent music, this dance/exercise will work muscles you never thought you had.

On top of this, Zumba will help you lose weight by burning over 200 calories in 30 minutes for an average person or 425 calories for a 300 lb person. In all fairness, Zumba is an excellent for anyone who is looking for a workout to get in shape; and let’s get honest, who doen’t look for an amazing workout?
